Grab your lawn chair and stake out your spot!  Quirk Gallery is putting on a summer soiree along with their friends: 1708 Gallery, Steady Sounds, Black Iris, Verdalina, Backstage, and Lift Coffee.  Every Fourth Saturday, round up your posse and head downtown near dusk.  Doors open at 7 with live entertainment provided by Steady Sounds and Black Iris. Hardywood will be there with your favorite brews, or if you prefer, visit 1708’s cash bar.  Lift will supply your caffeine fix along with a little light nosh. Naturally, they wouldn’t invite you to the movies without providing bags of the crunchy stuff, so Backstage is rolling out the vintage popcorn machine. Admission is free, but bring a little dough for concessions.

Mind you, this is no ordinary people watching event. There is a costume contest centered around each film with prizes donated by Verdalina.  Headscarves, feather boas, hoop skirts…expect to see it all.  In addition, Michael Birch Pierce’s amazing blind contour embroidered portraits will be available for sale (featuring a character from each film).  In the event of rain, the party will move inside Quirk’s Gallery space.  311 West Broad St.

April 26:  Grey Gardens
May 24:  Clueless
June 28:  Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Seven Year Itch
July 26:  (500) Days of Summer
August 23:  Mean Girls
September 27:  Grease
October 25:  Clue

All movies will be projected in the gated side lot next to Quirk Gallery.  Space is limited, so arrive early to join in the fun!
